Ethiliwewa Maha Vidyalaya

Founded back in the year 1947 gathering a handful of rural children in a small hut roofed with woven coconut leaves under the initiative of then village headman and several countrymen. It grew to be a significant place of study for children in the area with time and later named 'Mo/Ethiliwewa Viduhala. The school underwent many reforms during the past two decades under various programmes introduced by the Ministry of Education and achieve set goals satisfactorily in the zone. The most recent is the upgrade of the status to be a national school. Dedicative and enthusiastic staff who work under one vision facilitate and direct students to achieve expected objectives and goals in education. The school maintains good correlation with community, neighbouring schools and other institutions. The rise of the school has opened new ways and opportunities for rural community for their livelihood development. It proves that Ethiliwewa village is now stepping to be a small city rising around this school..
